We are always trying to do something a little bit different here at The Potting Shed. We try to find more unusual ideas and ways of using plants and flowers in our designs. In this post we would like to showcase some buttonhole ideas we created using materials which would not normally be used.

Buttonholes don’t always have to be a simple rose and leaf. Why not go for a more interesting idea using a mixture of different textures. For the ones we created in this shoot we have used materials such as hydrangea flower, ivy leaves and berries which could be used for a summer wedding….oak leaves, lichen twigs, and acorns for an autumn wedding…. and a simple mixture of different foliages, mosses and red berries for a winter wedding. We are now coming into spring where we have all sorts of beautiful spring bulbs, blossom branches and other interesting seasonal material available….perfect for a Potting Shed style spring buttonhole!

With all the seasons giving us inspiration for buttonholes and all things wedding, we love a challenge and will always try to create something a little more unusual. Watch this space for some fabulous 2020 wedding ideas from The Potting Shed and The Little Potting Shed #pottingshedstyle
Kayleigh is the inspiration behind the buttonholes and took care of the text also. Thanks to Keith for the pictures
